Series Preview: Indians at Orioles 6/24-27

The Indians have won their last four series and have won 8 of their last 11 games going into this series. This run has helped the Indians move within four games of first place after dropping eight in a row before that. The Orioles are also in second place and have been on a little streak of their own, taking three of the last four series, two of which were against first place teams in Detroit and Boston. Both teams will be looking to make a dent in the division lead as they come together in Baltimore. This series should be a particularly well pitched one as each team has a strong rotation, with the exception of game three which feature's one of the worst starters for both teams.

The Indians made one roster move before the series started and are expected to make a few more in the near future. For today, T.J. House has been brought up from AAA in exchange for Carlos Carrasco. House was one of the players featured in our preseason minor league rankings. He will remain in the bullpen, leaving the Indians with four starters until this Saturday. In other roster news, Chris Perez will be making a rehab appearance tomorrow in A (SS) Mahoning Valley and could be activated for Wednesday's game if he pitches well. Asdrubal Cabrera is also set to come of the DL some time during the next week as he has almost completely recovered from his injurred quad. Brett Myers (on the 60 Day DL since 4/21) may also be activated in the coming weeks and will be placed in the bullpen upon return to the team, where he should have been all year. Finally, Trevor Bauer is expected to make his return just following this series for the Indians double header against Chicago. With all these players coming, many players will be forced out as well. The most likely candidates for departure are the three left handed relievers, Rich Hill, Nick Hagadone and T.J. House, along with newly acquired bench warmer Johnny McDonald.
