Tribe Time Now Episode 1

Burning River Baseball has joined up with the More Than A Fan Network and many other Cleveland Indians based websites to create the Tribe Time Now Podcast. For the first ever episode, I joined host Ryan Thompson of MTAF (@_TribeTimeNow for updates to all episodes.

A Look at the Indians 2015 Outfielders

There appears to be no shortage of available players who can potentially suit up to spend some time in the outfield for the Cleveland Indians in 2015. In fact, there looks to be a surplus, barring a trade at this point. But since we’re considering who is available now there might be a few guys who […]

Where are you Kipnis?

Unlike the last rebound candidate, Nick Swisher, there is much less history with Jason Kipnis as he has played only three full seasons in the pros. But similar to Swisher, Kipnis had an injury in 2014 that significantly affected his swing. After straining his right oblique in April, Kipnis’ batting took a bad turn for […]

A Look at the Indians 2015 Starting Rotation

If the Indians are to make their second playoff appearance in three seasons, it will be largely due to the starting rotation picking up where it left off in the second half of 2014. The Tribe will enter 2015 with the same group of pitchers it ended 2014 with, avoiding the uncertainty that plagued last […]

Top Ten Ohio Born Cleveland Indians

Professional baseball isn’t like the amateur ranks, where players generally stay where they are. The current Indians 40 man roster contains the same amount of players from Taiwan as from Ohio (one each in C.C. Lee and Nick Swisher). Despite 39 players on the current roster that hail from lands outside the Buckeye state, there have […]

A Deeper Look Into the Indians Corner Infield & DH

With most of the Indians starting positions firmly established, this group of hitters is one of the most interesting going into the 2015 season. Every significant member of the team who played either third base, first base or DH in 2014 is returning for the 2015 (Jason Giambi and Chris Gimenez are the only insignificant […]

How to Get Free Stuff: 2015 Edition

Photo from Everyone loves free stuff and looking back at some research done internally this off-season, at least some fans base their visiting schedule almost entirely on when they can get a little something extra for the price of admission. Being one of those people, I empathize and now present you with the best, […]

An Insider’s Guide to Indians Spring Training

Pitchers and catchers will report within a few weeks and shortly after that the Spring season will begin, but for those planning on actually participating in the festivities, a little preparation is necessary. Already this off-season I’ve discussed things to do around the city when games are not on, but now it is time to […]

The True Cost of WAR

There have been a lot of comparisons of a player’s salary to a player’s WAR, but instead of an all-encompassing look at what each win is worth, the chart below compares each team in the American League’s top three players financially to their production on the field. Rather than use actual numbers, in order to […]

Mythbusters: Offseason Acquisitions

February isn’t a particularly exciting time for baseball fans as the vast majority of off-season trades and signings have already occurred and things are beginning to wind down in preparation for Spring Training. As pitchers and catchers prepare to report, much is written around the baseball blogosphere about a particular player claiming to be in […]
